Thank you for your jaw-dropping support for Wells of Salvation last Lent. Wells was a massive initiative, and the dioceses of Wa (Ghana), Karonga (Malawi), and Chipata (Zambia) made monumental strides for their communities because of it. Donations may be made online directly to Cross Catholic Outreach (in the name of OLQOPParish), or by putting an envelope in the weekly collection marked, “Wells of Salvation” (checks should be made out to Cross Catholic Outreach). or by clicking on the link below.
Summer 2023 - Wells of Salvation | Cross Catholic Outreach
…Your sacrifice and generosity brought clean water and sanitation to 407 people. That is 407 people who no longer have to spend 4, 6, or 8 hours each day drawing water. 407 people who no longer have to worry about contracting a deadly disease from the very water they need to live. 407 people praising God for the gift of clean, accessible water that will serve their community for years. Your support will have a generational impact…lives and communities have been transformed by the gift of clean, accessible water and sanitation. This initiative was a great example of both "giving the man a fish" and "teaching the man to fish." Thank you again for trusting us and believing in our mission. It is a great honor to do the work we do, and a great gift to have parishes and schools and families walk alongside us as we walk alongside the people we serve. Count on my prayers for you, and please keep us in yours. Always seek to serve the poor…Charlie Seiter
The mission of Cross Catholic Outreach is to mobilize the global Catholic Church to transform the poor and their communities materially and spiritually for the glory of Jesus Christ. As you can see from the note above, Catholic Outreach is transforming lives providing life-giving water to the poorest of the poor.
Because this mission fits so well under our Our Lady Queen of Peace Matthew 25 Ministries, and after much prayer, we would like to make the Wells of Salvation mission a parish-wide, long-term initiative in our parish community. That is, for the remainder of the liturgical year (from Lent to Advent), we will be asking all parishioners to support the Cross Catholic Wells of Salvation mission by donating at any time to the Wells of Salvation project. We will also once again, focus on this as a fundraiser with our youth, in Family Faith at Sacred Heart School and at Vacation Bible School.
This summer, we will also host missionaries from Cross Catholic Outreach. The missionary fathers will provide us with an update of how our funds are being used as well as our contributions to date. I pray that you will join with me in supporting this parish project so that the “poorest of the poor” can drink freely from the wells of salvation!
In His Love, Fr. Sean
