Archdiocese Marriage Preparation
Good marriages can always be made better! Pope Francis described marriage as “a project to be worked on together” and a “process of growth” (Amoris Laetitia, no. 218, 221). The Church provides many opportunities for spouses to deepen and refine their love for each other. Marriage and family life are not without challenges. It is in the family that we learn to love and be loved and to maintain relationships over time. Learn to create the time and space for your marriage and family and to grow in the love of God and of each other. The following website from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, has links to many Catholic resources that help Marriages and Family Life become places of prayer and faith where we can get help navigating the challenges that come with loving each other, being parents, having healthy extended family relationships, caregiving and more. https://www.foryourmarriage.org/about-us/
The staff and your fellow parishioners congratulate you on your engagement and promise you our support and prayers. It is our great joy to assist you as you prepare for the celebration of Holy Matrimony
Marriage, the Sacrament of Matrimony, is a holy vocation—a vocation to which God has called you, and in which Christ will give you all the necessary graces to help you find both happiness and holiness, as you grow together in love. The Church teaches us that the “Sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ and the Church. It gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved his Church; the grace of the sacrament thus perfects the human love of the spouses, strengthens their indissoluble unity, and sanctifies them on the way to eternal life.”
To arrange for marriage in either parish contact the parish office at least 6 months in advance and prior to scheduling your reception to schedule an appointment.
